MAG (Mines Advisory Group) is delighted to announce the appointment of Ambassador (Ret.) Tim Davis as the new Chair of the Board of Directors for MAG US.
Ambassador Davis brings more than 20 years of experience in U.S. diplomacy and national security, most notably serving as U.S. Ambassador to the State of Qatar from 2022 to 2025. During his distinguished career with the U.S. Department of State, he held postings in Iraq, Guatemala, Australia and Colombia, as well as various domestic assignments. Prior to his diplomatic service, Ambassador Davis served for more than a decade in the U.S. Marine Corps. He is currently the founder and Principal of Davis Advisory Group.
He has received numerous honours, including the Distinguished Honor Award, the Ryan C. Crocker Leadership Award, and the Rivkin Award for Constructive Dissent. In 2025, he was awarded a Doctor of Humane Letters honoris causa by Virginia Commonwealth University.
Reflecting on his appointment, Ambassador Davis said: “I have seen firsthand the devastating effects of unexploded ordnance and landmines. They continue to threaten communities and remain a significant barrier to lasting peace. MAG’s effective work alongside local partners to clear the remnants of conflict and help communities rebuild is unparalleled. I am honoured to take on this role and look forward to supporting MAG’s vital mission.”
Speaking on the appointment, Shari Bryan, Executive Director of MAG US, said: “Ambassador Davis’ experience and insight will be invaluable to MAG US. His deep understanding of diplomacy and conflict-affected regions will strengthen our work as we continue supporting communities living with the legacy of unexploded ordnance. We are delighted to welcome him as Chair and look forward to working together to advance MAG’s life-saving work.”
Darren Cormack, MAG International CEO, added: “Ambassador Davis’ esteemed career in public service reflects a lifelong commitment to peace and security. His appointment represents an exciting new chapter for MAG US, strengthening our ability to develop new partnerships and opportunities to better serve conflict-affected communities. His leadership comes at a critical moment, as the need to address the long-term consequences of conflicts around the world grows more urgent than ever. On behalf of all my colleagues at MAG, I welcome Tim and thank him for his willingness to join our mission.”
